Hueral privacy policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026

This page is a plain-language policy. It is not a substitute for legal review.

This policy describes what Hueral collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to get it deleted. By using Hueral you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Who we are

Hueral is a speaking practice app, operated by the company behind it. In this policy, Hueral, we, and us all mean the same thing, and you means the person using the app.

You can reach a person at hello at hueral dot com. That inbox is read by a human.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the marketing site, the quiz funnel at the start of the flow, the checkout, and the app you use after you sign in.

What we collect

We collect four kinds of information.

  • Quiz answers. The questions you answer before you buy, plus your first name and email address. We keep them so your plan can be built from them and so you can come back to your result.
  • Account and profile. Your email address, your first name, your goals, your weekly session target, and your time zone.
  • Practice data. The voice recordings you make, the transcripts of those recordings, the scores and written feedback produced from them, and any messages you send to the coach chat.
  • Billing and usage. Your subscription status and renewal date, plus standard analytics about how the site and app are used, such as pages viewed, device type, approximate location from your IP address, and the campaign link you arrived from.

We never see or store your card number. Card details go straight to Stripe.

If you answer the quiz before creating an account, your answers are stored against a random identifier saved in your browser, along with the email address you give us. If you then buy a plan and claim your account, that quiz submission is linked to your account and used to build your plan.

What we do with your recordings

This is the part worth reading closely, because it is the most personal thing you give us.

When you finish a recording, the audio file is uploaded to our storage. It is then sent to a speech to text provider, which returns a transcript with word timings, and to a language model provider, which returns your scores and written feedback. Both act as our processors: they handle the audio to do that job and nothing else.

Your recordings stay private to your account. There is no feed, no sharing, and no comparison with other users. We do not sell your recordings or transcripts, and we do not publish them.

Scores and feedback are practice guidance generated from your own recordings. They are not a clinical assessment, and they do not diagnose or treat speech, language, or anxiety conditions.

Why we use your information

  • To build your plan and run your practice sessions, which is the service you paid for.
  • To produce your score, transcript, and feedback, and to show your progress over time.
  • To take payment, manage your subscription, and send you receipts.
  • To send you account email and, if you have asked for it, practice reminders and a weekly recap.
  • To understand which parts of the product work and which do not, and to measure our advertising.
  • To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of companies to run Hueral. Each one only gets what it needs, and each one processes data on our behalf.

  • Convex, for the database, file storage, and server functions that hold your account, your recordings, and your results.
  • Stripe, for payments, subscriptions, and the billing portal. Your card details are given directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Speech to text and language model providers, for transcription and for the feedback on your recordings.
  • Resend, for the email we send you, including sign-in codes and account email.
  • PostHog, Google Analytics, and the Meta pixel, for product analytics and advertising measurement. See Meta's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We will only hand data to anyone else if the law requires it, or if the business is ever transferred, in which case this policy travels with it.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar identifiers to keep you signed in, to remember your quiz progress, and for the analytics and advertising tools listed above. The Meta pixel sets identifiers such as _fbp on your first visit and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta advert, and both are used to attribute sign-ups to the advert that produced them. Where personal details such as your email address are sent for advertising measurement, they are hashed first.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and you can turn off personalised advertising in your Meta and Google account settings. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your practice sessions.

How long we keep it

Your account, recordings, transcripts, and results stay until you ask us to delete them. Quiz answers from a quiz that was never purchased are kept for up to twelve months and then removed. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

  • Cancel anytime. Open the billing portal from Settings and cancel in two clicks. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Edit your details. Your name, goals, and weekly target can be changed in Settings at any time.
  • Delete your data. Email us and we remove your recordings, transcripts, and account within seven days. Cancelling your subscription does not delete anything on its own.
  • Get a copy. Ask us and we will send you the data we hold about you.
  • Opt out of email. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us first and we will try to sort it directly.

Where your data is held

Hueral runs on infrastructure in the United States, and some of the companies listed above process data in the United States and Europe. Where information leaves your country, we rely on the standard contractual protections those providers offer.

Security

We use encrypted connections, private storage for your recordings, and access controls so that only your account can reach your practice data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.

Children

Hueral is built for working adults and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and email subscribers before the change takes effect.
